Independent trade union elects new chair

CONGRESS

Maksim Paznyakou is elected new Chairperson of the Belarusian Independent trade union (BITU). This decision was made by delegates to the XI Congress of the union on 20th of April in Minsk.

On this position Maksim Paznyakou replaced Mikalaj Zimin who headed the union for two terms starting in April 2011. Before that Maksim Paznyakou was the BITU Youth Council leader and Vice-chairperson of BITU primary organization at JSC Naftan, Navapolack.

Congress elected two representatives of the Independent trade union of Miners at JSC Belaruskali for the positions of Vice-chairpersons: Siarhei Charkasau and Aliaksandr Mishuk.  Delegates to the Congress elected Sniazhana Hryntsevich as the union Secretary-treasurer.

There was also elected the Control and Auditing Commission, which is now headed by Uladzimir Martynchyk.

Delegates adopted a number of statements and a resolution of the congress.
